Route 7 Roadside Marker, Yurihonjō, Akita

Driving through rural Akita in May, I spotted this classic Japanese highway marker on Route 7 — 241 km from Niigata! These little signs are everywhere, but they remind you just how far the open road stretches across Tohoku. The grey skies and bare roadside plants had that early spring feel to them.

5月、秋田県由利本荘市を走っていて見つけた国道7号線の道標。新潟から241kmか！こういう標識ってどこにでもあるけど、東北の広大さを改めて感じるんだよね。春先の曇り空と枯れた野草の風景が最高だった！
