April in Sakata, and I found myself in the heart of Nakamachi — surrounded by sake bottles and the warmth of locals who know their craft inside out. The crisp, clean taste of this Yamagata brew against the spring air was pure magic. This is what happens when you wander into a proper izakaya in Japan's sake country!
