Late afternoon in May 2023, and I found myself standing before this striking red structure in Shizugawa — a powerful monument to recovery and remembrance. The bold architecture rises from the landscape like a beacon, speaking volumes about community resilience after the 2011 tsunami. Surrounded by newly planted greenery and rolling hills, it's a humbling reminder of how places rebuild and transform.
