Stepped into this serene wooden corridor at a temple in Yoshino-cho, Kagoshima in May — the craftsmanship and calm of the place just hit different. The tatami stretches on forever, light filtering through the shoji screens, and somewhere beyond those walls, Sakurajima's watching over the town. Moments like these remind me why I fell for Kyushu's quieter corners.
