Frozen Lake and Dead Trees, Betsukai Hokkaido

February in Betsukai — and the whole landscape is locked in ice and silence. Those skeletal trees jutting out of the frozen lake are hauntingly beautiful, standing like monuments to winter's grip. There's something surreal about walking out onto solid ice under that pale sky — nature's starkness hits different when you're right in the middle of it.

２月の別海町、湖全体が凍ってるんですよ。枯れ木がニョキニョキ立ってて、その光景がめちゃくちゃ素敵だった！氷の上を歩いて、あの白い空の下で立ってると、冬の厳しさが体に沁みますね。こういう何もない風景が好きなんだよなあ。
