September in Kamikōchi — the valley floor was already putting on an early autumn show, and from this vantage point the whole alpine range just opened up before me. The mix of green and golden leaves, that crisp mountain air, and the peaks framing the horizon — honestly, this is why I keep coming back to the Japanese Alps!
