May in Ishinomaki, and I found myself standing before the ruins of Kadonowaki Elementary School — a powerful monument to the 2011 tsunami. The corrugated metal structure now protects what remains, and being there, surrounded by this quiet resilience, really hit home.

5月の石巻で、門脇小学校跡を訪ねた。2011年の津波の痕跡を今も留める場所。トタン板で守られたこの遺構の前に立つと、言葉もなくなった。被災地の歩みを感じる旅だった。
