Shizuoka Souvenir Mochi — August 2018

Picked up these gorgeous red and white mochi from a shop in Shizuoka — the packaging alone had me grinning. Summer heat had me craving something cool and sweet, and these little pillows of joy hit the spot perfectly. The kanji on the wrapper felt like a warm regional hello!
