Traditional Tatami Room Kaiseki Setup, Niigata

August in Niigata — I stepped into this gorgeous tatami room where everything was laid out for kaiseki, and I just had to pause and take it in. The wooden trays, the careful plating, the light pouring through those paper screens... with Mt. Myōkō visible in the distance, it felt like stepping into another time. Pure Japanese hospitality.
