September in the Chubu highlands — caught this weathered wooden sign marking the route, with Mt. Yari standing proud across the valley. The alpine air was crisp, the view endless. These little markers are like breadcrumbs through the wilderness, and moments like this remind me why I keep coming back to the mountains.
